I have a neighbor who is an aspiring musician. Specifically, he's a "WGWG" or "white guy with guitar" (a term coined by a favorite blogger of mine, Lyndsey Parker)--which would be cool if I didn't have to listen to him practice/warble all the time. He's doing it right now, and I'm not kidding when I say the dog at the house next to my apartment complex is barking at him. That bad.
Let's move on to someone more talented: Justin Timberlake. I know, I know...I'm probably just biased because I am from the generation that was obsessed with *NSYNC, BSB, etc. But it's no secret that JT's really grown into a successful artist on his own, and with that, I am very pleased. His newest single "Mirrors" is quickly becoming one of my new favorite songs. Video below! Sorry it's stupid long.
The weather has warmed up quite a bit here, but the pollen is out of control. I think it's supposed to rain sometime this week, so hopefully that will wash some of it away. Fingers crossed!
Seriously lacked motivation to blog today, but here I am! Well friends, it's been a dreary, chilly week. However, the forecast for this weekend looks beautiful! And, you guys should see the to-do list I just wrote out for myself for the weekend...it's about a mile long. I'm so thankful for nice weather; it'll be a joy to actually be out in it getting stuff done. I will also be pet-sitting two little doofuses until Tuesday, which will be wonderful. I love all animals--especially these two. Did I say I love all animals? Can I take that back? Because I do not love spiders. Although, they're technically insects/bugs/creatures-from-depths-of-hell. And, with the warmer weather upon us, it seems that spider season is making a comeback here in my lil' apartment. Joy. That's about all I have for y'all today. Have a great weekend!
Last time I checked, the first day of Spring was last week. Why the heck is it so cold and windy outside?! The weather is seriously messing with my sinuses, and now I feel like I'm getting sick. :( I just want to wear Spring clothes and spend all of my time outside in the sunshine. Groundhogs are liars. Not much else to post about today. Renewed my car tag last week and did my tax return. Applied for a credit card earlier. Thinking about opening up a savings account soon. Also wanting to start keeping a monthly budget. Being a responsible adult is exhausting.
Yesterday, a tornado struck my hometown of Hattiesburg, MS. When I heard of it, I called my parents. They had huddled in the bathroom under the stairs--our go-to storm hideout. They were fine, my house had no damage, and they never lost power. I was glad to hear that and thought maybe most of the rest of Hattiesburg had fared the same. I was wrong. My old high school suffered a lot of damage. The University of Southern Mississippi, specifically all of the music buildings where I used to work, was hit. Churches were crumbling. Houses were obliterated. The videos and photos I've seen have been heartbreaking. It's so hard to not be there, but I'm SO very glad that all of my friends are safe. I don't think it's been decided yet, but I'm hearing that the National Weather Service is saying the tornado will be classified as either an EF3 or an EF4. My heart is hurting for my hometown right now, but I'm so proud of how everyone is uniting as a community. If you get a chance, please keep the people of USM, Hattiesburg, and the surrounding area in your thoughts as they recover, regroup, and rebuild. Thank you. P.S. Eno the kitty is doing well! Here's hoping for a smooth recovery.
