Let's go, Bulldogs!!!

This feels like a dream, and I'm so nervous/excited that I feel like I could just burst.  My Mississippi State University Bulldog baseball team is playing in the NCAA College World Series championship series.  MSU is playing for a national title!!!  This is absolutely HUGE.  Mississippi State has never won a national title in any NCAA-recognized sport (disc golf doesn't count haha).  I'm just so proud of our boys and our school and our state.  It's not often I'm proud of the state of Mississippi, but I've been feeling extra spirited lately.  I'm actually about to paint my nails maroon, and I'm just now realizing that that might be a bit much.  But, so what??!!  This is such a momentous occasion, I don't even care.  Mississippi State will face off against UCLA in a best-of-3 series beginning tonight at 7pm (CST).

Let's go Bulldogs!!! Hail State!!!

May 2013 Favorites

The month of May has gone by so quickly!  Here's a short list of things I was into this month:

The Smoky Mountains: If you read my previous post about Memorial Day weekend, you already know I spent a few days in the mountains this month.  Wonderful place, wonderful trip.  Enough said.

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens: These are oil-absorbing sheets infused with green tea, so they're supposed to deliver anti-oxidants to your skin while cutting down on shine. I've used these for about a year now, but I always reach for them more when the weather warms up causing my oily skin to go into overdrive.

Baseball: Adam and I went to 4 games over the span of 2 weeks.  It had been so long since I'd even been to a baseball game, so I definitely enjoyed attending.  Also, Mississippi State is hosting a NCAA Regional this weekend.  Go Diamond Dawgs!

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Hardener: Works well as a base coat or by itself--I love how strong it makes my nails feel.

SourceFed and SourceFedNERD: Two YouTube channels I've discovered lately that discuss news and pop culture. The hosts are pretty funny.

Amanda Bynes' meltdown: What the HELL?! Of all the child stars, I would have thought she'd be the last to go crazy. Don't get me wrong, I have loved her since I was like 10, and I truly hope she gets the help she needs. BUT, everybody loves a good celebrity freakout. Makes us feel a lot better about ourselves.

"Brave" by Sara Bareilles: This song just makes me HAPPY.

 Have a great weekend! :)

Happenings

Let's see, let's see...what's been going on in my life lately?  *This post will be very random.

I went to several baseball games last week, which were super fun.  Ordered tickets today for a minor league game this weekend, too.  Speaking of this weekend, I'm going on a mini-vacation to the mountains.  Gonna go hiking and such.  I know I just went on a vacation, but my boss is on vacation in Europe right now, so the timing of that and Memorial Day weekend coming up just kind of worked out.

My flower sprouts I transferred to a couple of bigger pots about a month ago seem to be dying before even budding. :( I think they've been getting too much sun, or I probably should have put them in bigger pots. My green thumb has gotten rusty!

I did a lot of straightening up around the apartment this weekend--namely getting my closet and clothes drawers in order.  I finally packed my winter clothes away, which freed up a lot of room.  It has definitely warmed up enough now--there were quite a few days in April that were downright cold!

A good friend of mine from high school is going to be representing Mississippi in the Miss USA pageant coming up on June 16th!  Her name is Paromita Mitra, and she's the total package.  She is BEAUTIFUL and BRILLIANT.  She's majoring in Aerospace Engineering at Mississippi State University.  A beauty queen who is also a rocket scientist?  Y'all better vote for her here to get into the top 16 for the pageant!  Not that I don't think she'll get in through her own merits, but the vote will just be extra insurance. :)

I'm currently watching coverage of the tornado destruction in Oklahoma today.  The pictures and footage are just heartbreaking.  So scary and so sad.  Adam went storm chasing in that general area with some friends of his, but he tells me that he is okay.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has been affected!  This makes me very thankful that no one died in the tornado that hit my hometown of Hattiesburg back in February.

I hope everyone has a great week!

Oops

Missed my Thursday post!  I went to the MSU baseball game last night.  We're playing South Carolina this series, and we WON last night's game!  It wasn't looking very good for us, but we rallied in the bottom of the 8th.  It was awesome!  I love sports, and I don't care who knows.  (You get cool points if you know that reference.)  I'm going to tonight's game, too.  A client at work gave me tickets since he wasn't going to be in town.  Free tickets to an SEC baseball game?  Yeah, I'll take those.

Have a great weekend!  TGIF!!! :)
